Things are picking up!

After a pretty slow late October and first week of November, things are finally starting to get busy. I don't know if it's the good weather, or that people are starting to feel the pressure of the holidays upon us, but people were definitely out this past weekend... and shopping!

We sold a lot of furniture (not exactly gift items) on Saturday, but Friday and Sunday were gift-y days. Maybe I should stop looking for patterns and just go with the flow, enjoy the business!

A new shop opened up across the street from us this week. We're excited to see empty spaces filling up and Downtown Plymouth feeling vibrant. Welcome to the neighborhood, European Gardens!

Holiday decorations

Our current dilemma: How early is too early to put out holiday merchandise? We've been getting in new merch for the holidays since early summer, but that's obviously too soon. Last year we waited until mid-November and that felt way too late. Our solution: put it out gradually. Reindeer bottle toppers here, snowman dip/sauce set there. This ornament on Monday, that ornament on Wednesday. Over the course of October, we slowly put out all of our ornaments, displaying them in bowls instead of on the tree where they belong. We didn't want to startle anyone by having the tree up before Halloween! Some people feel really strongly about one holiday not infringing on the other, and those people should definitely not step into CVS because they would not be happy. But, now that Halloween is over, we can wait no more! Sorry, Thanksgiving, but the tree goes up today!

We've got a lot of unique and beautiful stuff this year, from driftwood snowmen to tin angels to German glass sanddollars. Come in and take a look!
